Well it has finally happened! Since mid march we have seen some renovations. Painters are re-painting the halls and apartment doors (although they are doing a sloppy job) and now the elevators are being redone. They even started to re-doo the main entrance (but it looks cheap).
So it seems there are real renovations underway.
It is surprising that the security cameras have not been installed though. I have heard they are on the way. But it would seem to make more sense to put them in before renovations to catch the vandals than after the work is done. On some floors, vandals already started messing up the work.
Anyway, it seems the new management want things to get better, so it is only fair to give them a chance (...and the changes are welcome). Let's see what happens.
This blog is intended to allow residents to make their opinions known about the upkeep of the building and grounds. The Marina Center is located at 14,255 Gouin West H8Z 3C2, corner of Saint-John's boul. and Gouin boul. West on the West Island of Montreal (borough of Pierrefonds). This ~30 year old, 16 level building, has 16 apartments per floor totaling some 250, including studios, 1 & 2 bedroom.
I think they are doing the best they can with the situation being as it is. I do agree cameras should be the first things to go up but at least they are trying. I came in the front lobby and they had piano music playing I thought that was fantastic. I still am petrified about taking the elevators especially the middle one so hopefully safer elevators are on their to do list. Good job let's make this a place we are all proud of.
